Oster 2529-426 Hand Mixer with Storage Case Review
I like to bake, but mostly handmade breads, and no mixer short of a commercial grade stand mixer is going to stand up to bread dough over a repeated baking cycle. But I did want a hand mixer for the few times a month that I'd put out some pastry. Having looked at the reviews of the Cusinart and KitchenAid hand mixers, I came away with the impression they all had problems of one type or another. Then I stumbled on the Oster and the few reviews were all positive, it came with a spiffy little carrying case, had three beaters pairs and the highest wattage of any of the models out there. Additionally, I've always liked Oster products and... IT WAS ONLY .
After using it a couple of times, I can say honestly that I really like it, with the exception; that the speed control is a slider switch that doesn't feel particularly precise. If KitchenAid made a premium hand mixer on par with their stand mixer line in the 0 - 150 range I probably would have bought that instead, but they don't and quite frankly no one else does either. Hand mixer's are becoming somewhat of a throwaway product and at if the Oster fails after a year or two, I'll buy another one.

My Granddaughter's mixer - Nevada5 -
Although this sounds like a crazy present, I bought this mixer for my 10 year old granddaughter. She likes to bake, and her mother doesn't have a mixer. I didn't specifically look for a case, but I think it's nice, since the kitchen is small. My granddaughter can keep it with her things. When I first opened the case, I thought the machine would be too heavy, but it wasn't. We tried out all 3 types of beater. This is MUCH better and more powerful than my old beater. The only problem we had was ejecting the beaters. You have to be smarter than what you are working with. I asked my more mechanical husband to help. We were just pushing the button the wrong way. Once we figured it out, they ejected easily.
Very Nice Mixer - Kimberle Carbin -
Its powerful enough to mix all things, but also has a low speed. Thats hard to find. Inexpensive and lightweight.

Didn't think I could get a mixer with accessories like this one at such a reasonable price. I love it.
